The World I See, Thu., 9/3/15

I love trees. Washington State is The Evergreen State for all our pine trees. The western part of the state is covered in them and the verdancy is exquisite.

No matter the weather. How cold or bleak it gets. No matter how hot or dry, there is always green to dominate the landscape.

I am frequently reminded of how powerful the evergreen is in the mythology of the ancients and why this is the tree that stands as the trees at Christmas time; they endure. In the bleakest, coldest, darkest night the evergreen stood as a symbol of life and a promise of survival. It reminded the ancients that life would not, could not, be defeated. #TheWorldISee
